Problem copying drawing objects/selecting rows in OpenOffice Writer
Dear friends,
I am using Debian Etch in one system and Debian Lenny on the other with KDE desktop. I've found two very annoying problems in OpenOffice Writer, which I predominantly use. When attempting to copy a drawing object by mouse (be it line, circle, star, callout, etc), it seems that it has been copied, but isn't visible. What I've to do is to Undo the operation and then again Redo to get the image on screen. However, this is a case peculiar to Drawing Objects, not to photos and other types of images. Have any of you noticed this thing? If so, is there any solution?
Secondly, in Debian Lenny the version of OpenOffice is 2.4.1. Everyone knows that clicking just left of the table row selects the entire row. Here, I can't select consecutive rows of a table more than what the screen accommodates. More clearly, if ten rows are visible within the screen area, I can only select the ten. It doesn't scroll further down to select other rows. Conversely, it shrinks weirdly. This problem is seen on OO Writer with version 2.3 and after, not before that.
I raised the questions in OpenOffice forum two weeks ago and yet to be responded. I don't understand why the developers are negligent to these important but trivial issues. The one who love Open Source very much and want it to be better than MS suites in most respects, I am but anguished.
Thanks in advance
