Problem configuring XConfiguration on AMD system

I have an AMD system and an on-board Nvidia Geforce 2 graphics card.
I have installed Linux 7.2(sounds historic right-but that was the only thing i could lay my hands on!!!)
Am having problems configuring the Xwindows configuration. I go to Xconfiguration in Setup. Go thru the steps-somewhere down the line it says - cant probe your card and quits.
Are there any known problems??
Am confused plz help.

I think that RedHat 7.2 (I understand you refer to RedHat, right?) doesn't have drivers for Geforce cards. An upgrade to 7.3 and then installing the drivers (from should help. For now, choose 'Standard VGA/SVGA'. It isn't perfect (640x480), but will work and gives you a chance to dig more.
