problem compiling mplayer after adding win32 codec

I have successfully installed mplayer using rpm file. Only later on that I realised that I would need win32 codec. So I downloaded it, unpacked it and put everything in /usr/lib/win32 as instructed (the directory wasn’t there so I just created it). Then I tried to compile it using ./configure but I got an error message saying

Bash: ./configure: No such file or directory

What should I do? Does it matter which directory I was in when I do ./configure?

After ./configure, will I need to do

Make
Make install

Thanks in advance.

You have to download the mplayer source and compile (configure, make & make install) form it. You may want to grab the divx4linux and xvid packages beore compiling it. Good luck.
