Problem Cannot execute /bin/bash: Permission denied


I use suse personal 9.1. When I try to install program with ./configure I get error:
Cannot execute /bin/bash: Permission denied
It is and root and other user. What I need to do?

Greetings.
Make sure you are root and that you have root's powers. Make sure your permissions are set to rwx for root. you'll probably need to use chmod u+x [filename].

The ./configure phase is not usually run as root. The make install is however.

One thing to consider is where you expanded the tarball.
You may be in a directory where you don't have execution permissions. Copy the tarball somewhere under your home directory. I have a ~/downloads/ directory where I keep them.
