problem about blas

I have download a blas package from the netlib.org, but hwo to compile these .f file into a lib file blas.a with fortran compiler.

You would be better off using ATLAS to create BLAS and LAPACK libraries. Depending on your needs, BLAS, LAPACK, and FFT libraries are provided by uP vendors. These are not GPL'd so you would have to contract with the uP vendor if you wanted to re-distribute them.
