Printing directly pdf files

Hi,

I know it is possible to print into ps and then to 'ps2pdf' the ps file to get a pdf printout.
I know kprinter also prints directly as pdf (in that case you have to pipe kprinter with your edition SW).
Finally, I also know you can produce pdf directly from OpenOffice, Abiword and do one.

But I am looking for a way to declare a "pdf printer" (like you would do for a ps generic printer) using the ps2pdf utility.

And I get overflooded with informations about queues, server, filters...

Can anyone explain how to pipe directly a ps output into the ps2pdf utility for exemple using the redhat-config-printer utility or any kind of config file ?

Thanks
christophe
