Smile Printer will not print.

One of the problems I have with this installation of Fedora 7 is the mouse pad.I had written a reply to the two answers but in moving my mouse as has happened in the past I lost all I had written or at least I think I did. I am aware of the fact that I have the technically wrong HPLIP driver for my needs, but HP open source only list Fedora 15,16,17, so I took what I could and aside from the problem that I encounter with my original thread about the libusb-USB library install it seemed to be satisfied, the file that I installed from Linux was libusb-win32-bin-1.2.6.0. It was supposed to be the libusb library I needed but did not solve the problem. In the event that it is assumed that I should have a different HPLIP driver where would I find one.

See this link -->http://hplipopensource.com/hplip-web/gethplip.html

Fed 7 is very old. You should install a newer supported version. I have no idea where you found this 'libusb-win32-bin-1.2.6.0' however, does "win" tell you something?

Lib files should come from the official repos of Fedora. Anything else is not going to work. HPLIP drivers come with most modern distros; if not installed with the basic system, they are in the repos for the distro.

Have you got cups installed? Does the printer show up in cups?

In a web browser, http://localhost:631 is how you access cups. Did you install the printer in cups?
