Printer and Screen problem
 
First off, the first one isnt a problem. After around 5-10 minutes my computer screen goes blank (I'm guessing it's some sort of power saving proceudre). I really don't like this, and I want to get rid of it. Anyone have any ideas?

Second off, my printer (A Brother HL-1050) isn't seeming to want to work. I believe I set it up all right on my Slackware 9.0 box, but it doesn't want to print. Maybe I didn't set it up right. If you can help me, write back asap.

Are you using CUPS? Have you verified that there is a Linux driver for your Brother HL-1050?

If so, start CUPS, and browse to http://localhost:631. Click Add Printer and go from there.
