Print screen on suse 10.1
hi, i recall most linux distros having the capability of taking a screenshot with the print screen button and automatically asking the user where he would like to save the screenshot. On suse10.1 it doesn't seem so, or I have to install something? Can anyone point me in the right direction please?

Check you system to see if you have Ksnapshot installed. It should be in the main menu - Utilities - Desktop.

i do, but how do i get it to run in the background to automaticall open up when i press print screen? my previous distros did that... :(

Control Centre - Regional & Accessibility - Keyboard Shortcuts. Click on the Command Shortcuts tab, Utilities - Desktop; highlight KSnapshot, click on the Custom radio button, and press the key combination you want to use (e.g. alt printscreen). Click on Apply.
Then you will have to logout and log back in for the change to take effect. Pressing that key combination will start KSnapshot. You then choose full screen or window snapshot. |
Thanks, brilliant, another problem solved :D It already has been 2 days since when I had to resort to windows at all! :D
