Primer on web browsers requested

I will first state that, when it comes to creating web pages and understanding browsers, I am not the sharpest tool in the shed.

I have 5 browsers on my slack 10 box:
Mozilla 1.7.2, Firefox 0.9.3, Galeon 1.3.17, Konqueror 3.2.3, and Epiphany 1.2.7.

I have them all configured to render LQ or Yahoo for example exactly the same - very minor differences if any.

Then I go to this site: http://www.mos.org - the Boston Museum of Science web site - and I get a rather extreme difference in the rendering of these pages.

Mozilla, Firefox, and Epiphany are one way. Konqueror and Galeon are another.
I would guess this has something to do with CSS compliance. I would also have expected Galeon to render like Mozilla.

Just looking for an explanation - nothing fancy. I am intersted in learning more about this so any good pointers/links would be appreciated as always. Also if there is a way to alter the function of Galeon and Konqueror to render pages like the others. I'd google this but, like I said , I don't know what I'm looking for.

Thanks for your time.

I don't know why you're using all these browsers. Just stick with Firefox or regular Mozilla (firefox is better methinks). Konqueror and Galeon are dependent on what WM you're using, and you don't want that, especially when you start getting away from KDE/Gnome and into IceWM/XFCE/Fluxbox.
