Hello there all.
Right! We have a little opportunity here to show how cool Linux is. I work in a small insurance brokers. My boss wants to use an old PC to set up a presentation screen in reception - displaying insurance info, advertising our services and so on.
I've been given the job of resurrecting a PC he killed about a month ago. I'll need to completely reinstall the OS anyway, so I might as well use a flavour of Linux - the PC in question is going to be on all the time, so it needs to be rock solid in terms of stability.
No probs there - I'll just bung Slackware on it, because I'm comfortable with that. However, having had a quick look on Freshmeat, there are LOADS of programs which could be used for displaying a sequence of images for the presentation/ads.
I'd really rather not just plough through them all one by one, so can anyone recommend a suitable program for the purpose? All it has to do is display a sequence of slides in a perpetual loop, in fullscreen, until interrupted.
If push comes to shove, I suppose I could just use OpenOffice.org's presentation tool, but c'mon, that's a bit of overkill, isn't it?
Any ideas or suggestions greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
