Postfix Virtual User Passwords?

I have set up postfix to deliver to virtual users. That's working. I have verified that the mail is being delivered.

But how do I set up passwords? I want the users to be able to check mail via POP and IMAP. Postfix is set up to use UID 5000 to access the vmailboxes.

Actually, this is an emergency situation, so if they all have the same password that is fine.

Thanks!

Jed

The authentication part is something that is actually handled by the POP/IMAP server daemons. Postfix has already done his job delivering the mail.

For simple, text based authentication (ie, new passwd file) check out teapop or dovecot. A more involved (and bloated, IMO) solution is to go with courier-imap.
