Postfix + squirrelmail + uw-imap: strange behaviour
Dear all,
I'm having a weird problem related to postfix, squirrelmail and uw-imap.
The postfix server, squirrelmail(version 1.2.6) and uw-imap are installed on my Debian woody box. This box is served as the mail server at my work place.
Recently, I changed the default local mail delivery into "maildir" format from the default setting (/var/spool/mail). I put the "home_mailbox=Maildir/", reload postfix and even restart it. The value of "home_mailbox" is still empty from "postconf -d | grep home_mailbox". However, "Maildir" directory with the "cur, new and tmp" subdirectories is created in every user's home directory. I also remark that the old file "/var/spool/mail/<login>" is still in used. I really can't figure out what went wrong so far? Have you got any suggestion or idea about this?
Another problem is that we use squirrelmail as our webmail and after changing Postfix configuration to accept "maildir" format, the folders part of the webmail interface is replaced by an error message of this type "Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 12583064 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 9097 bytes) in /usr/share/squirrelmail/functions/imap_general.php on line 137". Some of the mails can be received using this interface but not when i use a classic mail client such as mozilla thunderbird. In mozilla thunderbird, even moving file from folder to another is not done correctly, especially to the "inbox". Have you ever experienced this difficulty?
Any help or suggestion will be appreciated.
Thanks before hand.
Uddam
