I just set up an old system in the back bedroom and using it for a server... apache is working fine and so is ftp but POSTFIX.. Yikes... what a nightmare.. man pages and google are like a cat chasing it's own tail... I'm getting nowhere but 'p'...ed off in a hurry.. :-( trying to send mail out to the internet..
Postfix is NOT rewriting any from: headers and all mail sent from starfleet.ss-enterprize.net have from=user@starfleet.localhost.localdomain which is always going to be rejected by the recipients mail server... I'd like from to be re-written to
user@myvanitydomain.hn.org but... it just will not cooperate .... generic file isn't working with either hash or regexp table types and setting mydestination isn't working either...
Years ago, when I was using mandrake, I set up postfix and it worked fine.. all I had to do was set a couple of values in the main.cf file and off it went... But this version (which btw is 2.2.2) is giving me ONE BIG HEADACHE...
Solve this for me and I'll introduce you to .. ohhh... never mind... she's taken.. LOL...
TIA..
