Postfix mail transfer agent not sending mail locally or to other servers
I've installed postfix under debian, and it seems that no mail is being delivered or received, either on the local machine (i.e. sketelsen@localhost) or anywhere else. I've reconfigured it a couple of times, and each time i make certain that the server is listening on the correct interface, that the server is correctly named, and all that jazz. However, i just can't seem to get the darned thing to work. i send mail thru kmail using sendmail, however, nothing ever shows up in /var/mail. What can i do? Any ideas?

is procmail configured? what is the output of mailq? (if it's long you can delete all the messages queued with postsuper -dALL, just to keep things organized). can you perform a telnet localhost 25? what about a telnet domain 25. i use postfix and found that my wireless router dropped all packages on port 25. And last, less /var/log/maillog is priceless.

post the contents of your /etc/postfix/master.cf file here, you'll probably find that the procmail and inet connectors are set incorecctly or not at all
maybe also add the output from postconf...

what about your log files, get some info from /var/log/mail.err (not sure if debian uses only mail or mail.err.info etc...)
Another highly probable reason is that you are denying relay from your self to yourself...
