Postfix Install

Hi,

I am using FC3, and I am trying to rebuild my postfix install from source RPM (It's easier). Now, the reason I am rebuilding is because I want to include SASL support which wasn't include with the standard RPM.

I have downloaded the source RPM but whenever I do the rpmbuild i get the following error:

+ '[' fedora-3.0 '!=' rhel-4.0 ']'
+ cat
ERROR ERROR ERROR ERROR ERROR ERROR ERROR ERROR ERROR ERROR ERROR ERROR

This postfix.spec file may not work correctly.
It was built for rhel-4.0, while you are running fedora-3.0.

Please rebuild postfix.spec for your distribution by following the
instructions in postfix.spec.cf.

If this procedure does not allow you to produce a working package, please
let me know.

ERROR ERROR ERROR ERROR ERROR ERROR ERROR ERROR ERROR ERROR ERROR ERROR
+ exit 1
error: Bad exit status from /var/tmp/rpm-tmp.31224 (%prep)

RPM build errors:
Bad exit status from /var/tmp/rpm-tmp.31224 (%prep)

Now... Is this because the source RPM was built for RHEL4 or just me being stoopid as per usual? I downloaded the source RPM from postfix.org and it was placed under Fedora Core 3 section. If it is simply because of the version, then where can I get the one I require as I have tried everywhere. I prefer to have postfix 2.2.5, but if not something as close as possible!

SiE...

I don't run an RPM-based distro, but I came across PSCM (Postfix, Spamassassin, ClamAV, Mailscanner), an integrated RPM package designed for easy installation and usage.

Just thought I'd mention it, in case you wanted to try an alternative. I've never tried it myself so YMMV.
