Postfix - Dovecot - SASL auth

I am trying to setup a postfix server which supports SASL authentication with dovecot.

Somehow I managed to setup the postfix server and dovecot is also installed. I am able to receive mails in my Outlook, but sending mails is not successful. The SMTP server (Dovecot is handling SMTP requests) seems to be working fine, but the authentication mechanism seems to be not working and hence the server replies back with the error "Relay access denied"

My configuration is as below :

Quote:
[root@server ~]# postconf -n
alias_maps = hash:/etc/postfix/aliases
broken_sasl_auth_clients = yes
command_directory = /usr/sbin
config_directory = /etc/postfix
daemon_directory = /usr/libexec/postfix
debug_peer_level = 2
debug_peer_list = 127.0.0.1
disable_vrfy_command = yes
html_directory = no
inet_interfaces = all
invalid_hostname_reject_code = 554
local_recipient_maps = proxy:unixasswd.byname $alias_maps
mail_owner = postfix
mail_spool_directory = /var/mail
mailbox_size_limit = 4294967296
mailq_path = /usr/bin/mailq.postfix
manpage_directory = /usr/share/man
mydestination = $myhostname, localhost.$mydomain, localhost
mydomain = xxxxx.com
myhostname = mail.xxxxxx.com
mynetworks = 127.0.0.0/8
myorigin = $mydomain
newaliases_path = /usr/bin/newaliases.postfix
non_fqdn_reject_code = 554
queue_directory = /var/spool/postfix
readme_directory = /usr/share/doc/postfix-2.3.3/README_FILES
relay_domains =
relay_domains_reject_code = 554
sample_directory = /usr/share/doc/postfix-2.3.3/samples
sendmail_path = /usr/sbin/sendmail.postfix
setgid_group = postdrop
smtpd_client_restrictions =
smtpd_data_restrictions =
smtpd_error_sleep_time = 0
smtpd_helo_required = yes
smtpd_helo_restrictions =
smtpd_recipient_restrictions = permit_sasl_authenticated, reject_unauth_destination, reject_unlisted_recipient, reject_unknown_sender_domain, reject_unknown_recipient_domain, reject_rbl_client zen.spamhaus.org
smtpd_sasl_auth_enable = yes
smtpd_sasl_path = private/auth
smtpd_sasl_type = dovecot
smtpd_sender_restrictions =
strict_rfc821_envelopes = yes
unknown_client_reject_code = 554
unknown_hostname_reject_code = 554
unknown_local_recipient_reject_code = 550
unverified_sender_reject_code = 554
Am I missing out something ? Someone pls help

Hi, the documentation seems to be a good one. But it did not help. In fact, I am not searching for such a complicated config. There is a simple configuration which worked for me once and even working now also on one of my local, test machine. Unfortunately, I am unable to replicate it into the new server

Is there any other assistance for this ?
