Postfix+CurierIMAP+SquirrelMail -- a little help

I recently installed Postfix, Courier IMAP and Squirrelmail

I have gotten them all to run correctly, but when logging in with squirrel mail It says the user doesnt exist. I have created dirs
/home/kasb/Maildir using /usr/lib/courier-imap/bin/maildirmake Maildir ; /var/spool/mail/kasb .; I have set home_mail = Maildir/ in /etc/postfix/main.cf

Yet it still wont let me login with user kasb "ERROR
Unknown user or password incorrect."

Have you selected the right server type when configuring squirellmail?
Can you access the server with another IMAP client?

Yes I can access the IMAP from my home computer using PC-Pine but I still cannot login.

Or i guess my real question would be what is the proper way to create users?

How you create users depends on the authentication mechanisms you are implementing.
