Postfix Authenticated mail servers

I have a mail set up where my mail is accepted from my local network via a postfix server on the network, that then forwards mail via a mail providers SMTP.

This is a Authenticated mail server, and until 5am this morning, it was working fine, mail was flowing smoothly. However, the mail servers are now refusing to relay mail that has come from my mailserver.

The problem is that I cant remember how to set up authenticated SMTP in postfix. Anyone here offer pointers?

I have a sneaking suspicion that the mail provider has been sneaky and not allowing me to relay in this fashion, but I will retry doing the Authencation just in case Linux has lost it,

OK, Slight update here.

I have the message
Code:
Warning: /var/spool/postfix/etc/resolv.conf and /etc/resolv.conf differ
This started at the exact same time as I started getting refused errors from my upstream SMTP server. So the question changes now What can I do to put this right? Can I just delete one of the files? If So which one? Syncronise the two?

I have tried to update /var/spool/postfix/etc/resolv.conf to the same as /etc/resolv.conf but the error still exists. The content of the Postfix resolv.conf was my ISP domain name servers, and the /etc/resolv.conf was my Router.

Sorry, not exactly a newbie, but stuff crops u that I have no clue about!

Ok, sorted now. Bloody Tech Support not havin a clue. "Well it works for me so it is'nt our servers"....

Well, yes it was. I was referencing them via IP numbers, they changed that this morning to not allow IP, only the domain names....

Only worked it out when I used the IP in Outlook and it helpfully gave me the complete error, So outlook does do something useful! LOl

Finally found a use for the pile of dog poo then.
