Postfix

Hello,

We are using Postfix to filter spams but I'm not at all acquainted with that. After a spam got unfiltered, I have been asked to add this spam address so it doesn't go through our mail server. How can I do that ? if you have any other tips when using Postfix you are welcome!

Thanks in advance for your help

How are you doing the spam filtering?

If you are using amavisd, you can set up a blacklist for amavisd quite easily.

We are using Postfix http://www.postfix.org/ on a linux box to pre-filter spam s. Our main server is Exchange server 2000. In order to put less processor overloading on the exchange server, the Administrator has set up this SMTP relay server to check the incoming Emails against a recipient list. I checked the access file but that's doesn't seem the right one

If all you are trying to do is block incoming email from a certain email address and you are only using postfix (not postfix+amavis) I'd suggest reading http://www.postfix.org/RESTRICTION_CLASS_README.html. You'll probably want to set up a sender class restriction or such.

Thanks imraven,

I'm not at work now to try but your link gave me the answers to my problem. Previously when I was adding on the access file email addresses to filter I was not executing the "postmap /etc/postfix/access" to rebuild the indexed file. I will give a try also to the restriction class.

Thanks a lot for your help!
