Postfix $HOME/mail/inbox instead of /var/spool/mail

I use Redhat Fedora Core 1. I'm trying to run Postfix and IMAP mbox style. However, seems to send any Inbox messages to /var/spool/mail/user. I need to make is so that instead it sends the message to /home/user/mail/inbox. I'm having a lot of difficulty accomplishing this. How can I do this? I can only make Postfix receive to /var/spool/mail/user.

Create a symlink would be the easiest way...

I already figured it out by doing that, except Maildir directories don't work if doing this, hence I went back to mbox inline file style. I figured out that the problem that I was having was with the entry in main.cf [ mailbox_command = /usr/bin/procmail ] - I had to comment it out. Also, if using virtual domains then mydestination needs to include any other virtual domain that you use.

I think I will stick with mbox format instead of Maildir. IMAP handles mbox better than POP since it reads the headers only, thus making the scanning a lot faster; this is especially important for Inboxes with thousands of messages. Maildir is just too complicated and anyways, eMail is not designed for long term storage so I will reduce the mailboxes to no more than a couple of hundred megabytes of size and do auto-prunning every 3 months. I feel sorry for admins who do not plan and policy this ahead of time.

I'd like to hear other opinions about Postfix from others...

Thanks.

try something like procmail. I use that to delive to /home/$user/Mail/Inbox. Be careful though, if you move your mbox, then you may have to recompile imap in order to know where the files are, depending on which imap server you're using.
