Possible to change non-LVM to LVM?
 

I'm quite into the HTPC idea, and have been running a Windows box with SageTV for over a year. While Sage is quite nice and probably better than MCE, it has its problems, which is why I decided to give mythtv a try.

As I'm new to Linux, I was not confident I would succeed, so I tried building it on an old 17gig hdd. (in order to have Sage to fall back on if I gave up) I was then going to format my Sage drive and install mythtv on that from scratch.

However, it's taken me about a month to get a mythtv system I'm completely happy with, and I have no desire to start that frustrating process from scratch again.

I've heard that using LVM is a good idea for mythtv, which I haven't done :(.

Would it be possible to use PartImage to make an ISO of my myth drive, then install it on my freshly formatted Sage drive (120 gig western digital) but using LVM instead?

If so, how would I go about it?

Why not just add LVM, install the other drive, then expand the volume on to it?

do one thing to increase the existing lvm size in redhat linux
#lvextend -L+100M /dev/vg0/lv0

the 100M is size of space which you want to add to lvm.
/dev/vg0/lv0 is your lvm name
