Possible permissions problem

I'm mapping a linux share on my win2000 box. I can create, write, edit and delete files just fine but when I try to overwrite a file that already exists it gives me this error - "Cannot copy myfile.php: Cannot find the specified file. Make sure you specify the correct path and filename".

The permissions on the folder are set to 775 with root being the owner and nogroup being the group. I've tried this with the permissions being set to 777 and it still produces the error. Any idea what is causing this?

Thanks.
