Porting Quartz-wm

I was wondering if anyone was busy creating an open source implementation of Quartz-wm or if there was a port available. I've just recently started looking into it, but if you have it on a PPC implementation of X11, I'm sure you coudl port it somehow, although I doubt Apple would release it's source. Basically, lately I've been having the idea of running parts of the Apple OS on an x86 CPU... all based on BSD/NEXT so it should be technically possible right?

Just another rambling thought
