pop3 and sendmail

Hi, I have spent almost all week trying to get my mail server to recieve mail. I can send mail from it anywhere using kmail, evolution, outlook, etc. I cannot send mail to it though. When setting up my pop3 settings in any MUA, I get a message of: connot connect to (mailserver domainname).
I do see errors in maillog about relaying not allowed.
Im sure it is something simple, but I cant find it.
Any help would be greatly apreciated.

Using sendmail, qpopper and slackware.

Any luck?...i am following in your footsteps...I can collect / send when on the local network...only if I go and try and send from "outside" i get relaying rejections

try switching to qmail or postfix

qmail is more secure than any other smtp server.
