Pod Cast Server

Hi there,

i'm not really sure what i'm looking for so i thought i'd ask up there.

I'm looking for a pod cast server, or some post cast software.

I work for a school and one of the language teachers whats there children to be able to submit there oral work by using pod casting, another of the never ending attempts to keep children interested in school work I think.

Anyone have any suggestions?

Hello to another Aussie!

the easiest method would be to get the kids to use audacity- a recording program. They just need a microphone on their computer to get it to work. Then they email in their mp3's. It's really fun playing with recording- toilet flushing etc.

Podcasting is really the name for the technology that would be the other way around to what you are wanting to do- That is, like a radio show. Teacher records mp3, sets it to be downloadable, kid's computer has program that checks to see if there is a new episode, downloads, kid listens.

look up podcast and rss on wikipedia (or in our own wiki) for more info.

Like I said though, podcasting isn't really what you need to have the kids submit their recordings. Are you guys doing distance education?
