Unhappy PLZ help me @ my linux redhat installation

i tried to install RH 8.0 at my pc and itz the first time for me i use linux.
after is selected to take the desktop-version of HR 8, i had to partitonate my harddisk.
so, no problem i thaught, and hited the button automatic partition.
weīll, after one second i saw, it is a problem, cause there was a message:
U didnīt set a root partition.
so, i know i can do that with fdisk, but how?
i wanna have windows with linux at the same time on my pc, is that possible?
i have following partitions: C:\ [ntfs] [with windows, wanna hold this][37GB]
D:\ [ntfs] [games, can be deleted] [34GB]
E:\ [fat32] [few setups, can be deleted] [3GB]
so i think i have to use the partition d, i have ONE IDE harddisk, so in fdisk it has to be hda2, right?
now what i have to do?
i think: type [/dev /hda2] in fdisk [now d:\ is deleted]
then set new partiton [in which format????]
then format this new partiton...
Will it work then?
Plz help me
