PLplot drivers?
Hi all,
So I'm trying to work with some software that needs "plplot" in order to function. I have installed "plplot" several times with different switches and haven't been able to get even the examples to work.
I'm running CentOS 5.9 on a 64-bit build.
The two error messages are:
1. When I run my main code or an example code:
*** PLPLOT ERROR, IMMEDIATE EXIT ***
No device drivers found - please check the environment variable PLPLOT_DRV_DIR
2. When I try to run a check code named "plplot-test.sh":
PLD_psc is defined as OFF. It must be ON (i.e.,
enabled by your cmake configuration and built
properly) before you can use this script with
DEVICE=psc.
I have tried setting the environment variable as follows:
PLPLOT_DRV_DIR=:/home/williams/FSRED/FSRED_SUP1/plplot-5.9.9/drivers
which is the directory with the drivers (I think) and I still get the error messages.
Any ideas?

Well, you could try out the default CentOS 5.x version = plplot-5.7.3 :
# yum install plplot
.. Then I'd guess you can at least run your "plots".

Hmmm, that might just work. I'll try that out tomorrow and see if that works and post here what the results are, thanks for the tip.

Hmmm,
I've now tried a few different installs of plplot-5.7.3 and nothing seems to want to work. Fortunately, I have found a workaround -- not letting my other program try any plots!
Thanks for the tips!
