Please someone help a noob! I'm desperate

Today is my first day of using linux. I got my NIC working in red hat 9, but to get it working in XP i have to update the driver. I downloaded the new xp drivers onto my root directory in Red Hat 9, but now I don't know how to get them to xp. I can't figure out how to copy to a floppy, burn to a cd, or anything. Can anyone please help me out?? It's important that i get back online in xp tonight, i have a few important files to send. all i need to know is a basic way to copy my xp drivers to the floppy from within red hat. thanks in advance.

You need to mount your floppy:

mount -t msdos /dev/fd0 /mnt

then copy the file:

cp *file /mnt

and then unmount the floppy:

umount /mnt

*change it with driver filename.

have you checked to ensure that the drivers will fit on a gloppy disk?

If so, you should be in good shape. Place the disk in the drive then at the command line.

mount -t msdos /dev/fd01 /mnt/floppy

at this point you should be able to copy your driver file to the /mnt/floppy directory. Once the file is there you can unmount the floppy

umount floppy

Remove the disk and then reboot the system back to WinXP and proceed as usual.

Good luck.
