Hmmm you're *right* there.. but your attitude most definitely is *not*.. All you need to do is get the file then report back here. Further guidance would have been given. If you are not prepared to familiarise yourself with at least the basics of using GNU/Linux everything will be alien to you and a very steep learning curve. If you've finished having a tantrum and require further help post your request here.

This is a copy/paste of something I wrote in a another thread. It's written about an Asus 701 but it applies to what you have as well. I advise reading it because it will hopefully help you better understand what it is you have.

Quote:
What you get on the Asus 701 is not a regular Linux install. It's not the same as if you download a version of Linux and install it. What you have on the Asus 701 is a heavily customised and cut down version of Linux. It's designed to be used like an appliance. Like you use your washing machine. You turn it on, you click one of the icons provided, do what you want to do, you turn it off. You are not using GNOME. You are not using KDE. You are not using any of the common desktop environments that you will see/hear people talk about. What you are using is unique to Asus Netbooks.

With the version of Linux that comes on the Asus 701, you generally don't install new software and you don't update the software provided, at least not beyond the very limited number of updates that Asus provide. Somewhere there should be an icon for installing updates, click it and see what, if anything, happens. It may be that nothing happens as given the age of the Asus 701 the repos may have been taken offline. Even if something does happen, I very much doubt you will get the latest version of Firefox. If you are already very familiar with Linux then it is possible to install some new software or update what's there already, but it's very hard and it's really not worth the effort given how old the version of Linux. Unless you are already very familiar with Linux attempting to make any modifications to software supplied on the Asus 701 is so difficult as to be effectively impossible.
As for getting Flash updated, try this thread started by someone trying to do the same thing you are. I've not read it all but it's marked Solved so I'm assuming the guy got it sorted out.
