Please help me eliminate these error message from various programs

Hi guys,

I am running Kubuntu Breezy (AMD64). While the system runs without major problem, I realise that there are many hiccups here and there. Although the programs are usable, it is actually quite messy underneath the GUI. I would like them to run perfectly, You mgiht call me fussy, but I guess that is why we chose Linux over those one size fits all OS.

I would post these error message in installment. I'll try to post similar problem together. Here's the first:

Firefox (with GPL Flash)
By typing "firefox" at the console I get this:

Maybe old versions of your programs and gtk2.0 ? Try to update them if it so.

My system runs an updated version of Kubuntu Breezy, can I assume that it is updated? If not how can I check for the version number? What is the package name?

I have also installed more than a dozen packages that says "gdk", "pixbuf", "gobject" and etc but still no luck.

Hey Navyblue,

got exactly the same with all gtk apps, and no clue how to get rid of it. Am curious to hear if you (or someone else) knows what's up.

Got the same error messages when I updated SuSE 9.2 to 10.0.

Try to rebuild your GdkPixbuf Image Loader Modules file as root.

I get those same messages (and so do the people working with me), except for the missing flashplayer plugin message you have at the start of the firefox listing. Have you upgraded firefox and the plugin is still in the old firefox location (or uninstalled)?

For the other messages, since nothing bad was happening I got lazy and changed my startup commands to:
