Please Help. ext3->reiser conversion, no init found!

I just converted my ext3 partitions to reiser. I did this by taring the partitions, saving them on a removable drive, reformatting with reiser, then untarring the partitions back on the directory. I then reran lilo, and editied my fstab for reiser instead of ext3. My problem now is that initrd keeps trying to mount the partitions as "ext3" instead of reiser. I have tried rerunning mkinitrd, but I cannot get it to work. Can someone help?
