please - from where can I download gcc 3.4?


I have gcc v4 installed. I need to have 3.4 to install drivers. V 3.4 is not listed in Synaptic. Where can I get it from please.

OK - so I've found this ftp://ftp.mirrorservice.org/sites/so...ses/gcc-3.4.0/

but I don't know which archive to download nor how to install it. bear in mind that I am d/loading to USB drive and transferring it to ubuntu box.

can anyone guide please

apt-get install gcc-3.4 ?

thanks spooon - but I cannot get online until I install the LAN drivers. I need gcc3.4 to install the LAN drivers. I have tried apt-get with my installation CD as source but it is not on the installation CD.

I have downloaded version 3.4 tars from gcc but I haven't a clue how to install from this. I am completely new to this and want to learn but have being going round in circles for 3 days.

any help would be great
