PlayStation2 OS

Does anyone know if I can convert my PS2 into a computer with just the CDs that come with the Linux kit for PS2 and a standard IDE hard drive? Or if I can buy the CDs without the other stuff in the kit (hard drive, keyboard, mouse, network adaptor...)

Thanks

you need the hardware as it is specifically designed (or at least modified) for ps2, nothing else will work with it afaik.

Also, you'll need either a USB cdrom drive or a networked cdrom drive in order to have any access to ANY CD's other than Sony's CD's for their Linux distro. That is, when you're running Linux on your PS2. If you aren't running Linux, then the CD-ROM drive runs like it normally does...
