pkg-config - how do I make a .pc file?
I'm trying to compile a cvs version of libofx. It's configure warns of not being able to find a particular "libxml++-1.0" (libxml). Then make fails due to the libxml not being found.

I have libxml++-1.0 soft linked to libxml++-1.0.5 in my pkgconfig dir. If I can figure out how to make it into libxml++-1.0.5.pc, that should resolve the problem (I hope).

Please tell me how to make a .pc file.

Thank you,

if you want to fudge one yourself just look at other ones already on your system and modify to suit your needs

Thanks for the quick reply, Chris. I took a look at fudging it, but it did not look like something that I could figure out how to do (without copying some libraries to different places than normal).

Did some more reading and found that a .pc file comes with a package, if it is to exist at all. So, for the hell of it, I re-compiled the program and there was the .pc file!

I guess I forgot that simple troubleshooting technique about 3 days ago when it first stumped me.

Thanks again,
