I'm having an ongoing problem with XMPP spammers flooding an XMPP account with messages & buddy requests.
Pidgin won't stop messages even though spammer is listed in the block list.
Pidgin security plugin switches from Accept Only setting, to Block Users setting, therefor allowing new spam floods in.
I've posted a request to pidgin again and still nothing.
Does anyone have another solution to block XMPP spammers?
I've tried Jitsi & Gajim but they are poor at handling over 700 spam messages
I have no personal experience with this, but a web search for "block xmpp spam" turned up this, which you did not mention in your post. https://github.com/agx/jabber-spam-blacklist
