Pidgin: hide new messages in system tray?

I recently moved from Gaim to Pidgin because technically the same thing... Gaim itself is no more so I was stuck in version 1.5 or so. What has been bugging me so far has been in Gaim when I received a new message, the system tray icon would blink, not doing anything else until I clicked on it. Now in Pidgin, the tray icon will blink when I receive a new message, it also raises the conversation window. I have looked in the program preferences itself and cannot seem to find a solution to this. Having the system tray blink and a window open seems kind of pointless to me unless I had the window on a different desktop or something.

Is there any way to fix this? Or am I going to have to move back to Gaim? This is really annoying when I am playing a game or watching a movie.

Thanks
Brandon

Plugins--> Message Notification put checkmark in the box then click the Configure Plug-in button, under Notification Methods uncheck Raise conversation window.

It is unchecked by default. Maybe I'll dig through the .conf files and see if it didn't change the setting in there.

Thanks
