Ok, edit was taking too long, seemed to timeout actually...

Anyway, other choice is:

If you just want Pico to use as an editor, nano is a good clone, and it is just an editor.
If you have the joe editor already installed, jpico will bring up joe in pico mode.
The Pine, Pico, Pilot combo is pretty nice though.
I am guessing you just want a simple editor...

Nano should be on your install CD's as well as Joe, however to find ANY applications you can usually go to:
www.freshrpms.net (for RPMS)
OR
www.freshmeat.net (for source and homepages)

Maybe it's just my location or something, but for the search I ran for 'nano' at www.freshmeat.net it was the first one listed:
http://freshmeat.net/search/?q=nano&...ojects&x=0&y=0

Just type:
nano
in a terminal. You should use -w (no wordwrap) for editing system files.
nano -w /etc/fstab
