PHP5 install error with Apache2

Hey, i have installed apache2 nicely but when i goto install php5 i get this error:

dl -lnsl -lxml2 -lz -lm -lxml2 -lz -lm -lxml2 -lz -lm -lcrypt -lxml2 -lz -lm -lcrypt -o libphp5.la
ext/libxml/libxml.lo: file not recognized: File truncated
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
make: *** [libphp5.la] Error 1

I have installed the latest libxml2 and the configure command i used was:

./configure --with-apxs2=/usr/local/apache2/bin/apxs --with-mysql

Anyone got any suggestions please???

I'm getting this error too. I'm currently downloading a newer version of PHP, in the hopes that will help.
