Hey guys, im was wondering if anyone knows of a free service that automatically fetches news items for my web site. I know PHP nuke works with xdmp but thats a paid service (as far as i understand at least)

thanks.

I'm not 100% sure what you mean by fetching news items for your web site. I use a couple of freely available modules on my site that get news updates from Slashdot, BSDToday, Freshmeat, etc...

http://www.kaplowitz.net

You can find all the stuff if you follow some of the links on phpnuke.org and nukecops.com .

Good luck.

Those modules you see on the site (in the blocks on the left and right at the bottoms) are all free. If you cruise all the PHPNuke sites, you'll see a million of them with all different kinds of topics...

I don't pay for any of those. I do notice that certain sites will block you if too many requests for updates come from your site (like slashdot for instance), but that's about the worst of it.

The modules/blocks are ultra-easy to set up too.

Have fun.
