PHP problem

Hi im using the tutorial from linuxquestions.org to set up a webserver.

Im going down the list quickly, i have gotten apache installed correctly this time, mysql but im stuck at php.

I have unpacked the tar file, but when i use the command

Code:
 ./configure --with-apxs2=/usr/local/apache2/bin/apxs --with-mysql=/usr/local --with-safe-mode
to properly configure it, i get the error

Code:
libxml2 version 2.5.10 or greater required
this is very odd as i have that exact version installed, i know this as when i tried to install that rpm package, linux said it was already installed.

EDIT: This is Redhat 9.0 and php 5.0.4
Please help

Thank you.

You need the -devel package package to build packages from source. They contain header files and other build information. So the rpm you want to install should be called libxml2-devel-2.5.10.i386.rpm or something along those lines.
