Angry PHP APXS Error


i have a strange problem with PHP and Apache, each time i try to install PHP using APXS i receive the error "Invalid host type", i don't know why although i installed Perl module successfully using APXS before trying to install PHP.
i recompiled the Apache source and PHP source but the same problem occured!
i use Apache 1.3.19 (i tried Apache 1.3.33 too and the same problem occured) and PHP 4 (also i tried PHP5)
plz help me

are u installing this on linux box or windows box.
i had a problem live this on windows.

try without apxs flag.

i had a same error with apache 2 and php5.my prob solved with this parameter:
'--with-apxs2=/usr/local/apache2/bin/apxs'
i forgot to use apxs2(becouse of php5).maybe it be useful for u 2.
