PHP&Postfix

Hi,

I am having a problem that php mail function cannot send any email using postfix mail daemon installed on the system. The daemon is working and infact I can send mails from it using python's smtplib for example. PHP is properly configured(I mean the path to sendmail), but still not mail is sent. It doesn't even appear in the spool dir. Do you have any ideas on how to fix this?

Regards,
Dennis

you can't use both postfix and sendmail (if i'm wrong, sorry). they are independant MTA's. so i would assume that php is not configured correctly

No I meant by path to sendmail the standard /usr/sbin/sendmail path. I don't have the actual sendmail installed, but postfix pretends to be sendmail, so the link still exists in /usr/sbin/sendmail and references the postfix binary.

Please have a look in your php-error log and in your maillog. Look out for messages refering to your problem and post them here so we can assist you in resolving you prob.

Please have a look in you php.ini, too.
It should contain "sendmail_path = /usr/sbin/sendmail -t -i" with the correct path to your sendmail binary or link. Please check that /usr/sbin/sendmail.postfix (link target) is executable for the web server.
