Lightbulb php AND extensions

How you can compile an so for php??

We need OCI8 support for php, but don't want to recompile php (./config -- with oci8 .... etc). We would like to generate oci8.so AND include in php.ini as an extension:

;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;
; Dynamic Extensions ;
;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;
;
; If you wish to have an extension loaded automaticly, use the following
; syntax:
; bla bla bla
extension=oci8.so

It's posible???

why wouldn't you want to recompile php? you would only loose that fraction of a second when you remove the original parser and replace it...otherwise you could try ./configure --with-oci8 and copy the module in with the rest of them...i say you should just download the latest source and build it, though...then you'll also have the latest and greatest
