Photo's reducing size of for posting

Ok chaps, what do I need similar to Irfan View on T'other OS (hiss)to edit the Size of Photo's, friends tend to get miffed if I email 5MB Pic's.
Loads of viewers etc on Ubuntu, like Playing Hopscotch in a Minefield, can give you a really Crap Day!
Newbie needs help, love the OS and converting friends!

Install Image Magic. It contains a command called 'mogrify' that resizes photos. It is all at the command line, and it is fast.

See this link for a very brief how-to.

There is a gui program called Phatch that I intend to try myself. You can set up batch jobs with it to resize photos.

Hope this helps...
