permission denied

Code:
root@yos src # ./startup
bash: ./startup: Permission denied
This is under the root account, and I still get permission denied? This is the startup script to the DBSC2.5 codebase.. That would be the Dragonball Saga mud codebase. You can download it at scourgeforge.

any help to get this working would be great
