Perminantly turn off kernel module


I can type rmmod <module name> to disable a module, temporarily. How do I shut it off permintely?...or at least until I manually turn it on at a later date.

debian has a file /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist
for blackballing those "bad" modules.
check if your distribution has something like that
