Perl Module Dependencies

Hello everyone,

I am trying to install a package on a red had server, my problem is that it requires a number of different perl modules to be installed. I have been using cpan to install the modules but when I go to install the package YUM still doesn't realize that the modules are there. Is there something else I need to do in order to get YUM to realize that the module are in fact installed?

Thanks in advance.

Hi, welcome to LQ!

yum only checks its internal database for dependencies. If you installed a
required perl module via CPAN yum will never know about it. What you should
have done, seeing as yum know about the dependency, is to try and find an
rpm for the module.

Cheers,
Tink

Any suggestions on where I can find a repository with a large number of perl modules in it?

Assuming you're using Fedora (we don't know, of course!) try
http://perlhacks.com/2011/03/fedora-...tos-cpan-rpms/
which was the 2nd link that came up using the search above w/ fedora
chucked in for "distro of choice".

Cheers,
Tink
