Perl has messed up my system..Can anyone help?

Ok...Another problem...

Ok I was trying to install wine, and I run the ./tools/wineinstall, and it needs an extra package, so I download this package, and it require perl-base, so I install perl base, and suddenly im not able to use RPM's and loads of my applications have messed up? Anyone know what I need to do?

Error messages please and was it directly after you installed perl-base?

I doubt it was the perl what messed up your system. Maybe it's overkill, but usually I shut down everything (well, I don't mean everything) including X when installing/upgrading packages. A running process related to perl - perhaps this was the source of your troubles?
