Perl forking and memory allocation

Hi,

I have a perl script running as a Daemon.
It runs well on one server, but not on another.
When it forks a child, it dies saying
Quote:
Cannot allocate memory
The machine it fails on has half the memory of the other.
The script is well tested for memory leaks.

Could there be any other reason for this error than the machine has run out of memory?

Thanks

1) it would be nice if you can show us at least the part that is relevant to the fork...
2) have you compared the perl version in these two machines (by using perl -V)?

my hosting company is currently upgrading the memory in the machine.
Going to see what effect this has.

Cheers
